Aire Valley Yarns Strikers

In March 1983 21 Asian workers went on strike for ten weeks against long working hours, poor working conditions and low pay.

Liaquat Ali was fired after an initial attempt to organise a union, the workers then went out on strike and were also fired.

Despite as 24 hour picket, management were able to bus in scabs with the protection of the police.
