so is that a differnt paper to the south then?

10 July, 2008 - 16:40

No, its the same Workers Solidarity 104 except the front and back pages of the paper covers more local/northern issues.

15 July, 2008 - 23:32

So its two pages of a newspaper of Anarchists in the 29 counties of the Republic of Ireland with two pages donated to (some) Anarchists in Ulster (in the partitionist sense of the term). Certainly not the paper of the majority of Anarchists in Ulster, 6 or 9 county variety, most of them are either in Organise! or are outside political organisations altogether.

Boul now ducks under his coffee table in anticipation of a tirade of abuse from touchy southern Anarchists and their unhinged northern brethren smile

16 July, 2008 - 00:25

We should change it to "Newspaper of the only anarchist group in the North bit of Ireland where prods live, but we hate"

16 July, 2008 - 07:45

It’s a fairly common trick Boul, the mainstream press in England do similar with their northern editions for example.

16 July, 2008 - 08:48

considering that its completely legit to just change the headline/banner alone, the fact that there is actually extra north based news is more than enough. Fair play.

How many of them say "the newspaper of [insert group of people here] in the north though"?

Depends on the budget tbh. In Suffolk, the EADT has a 'west' edition which changes about three or four pages, the Star changes similar for its Felixstowe edition. Still bollock on about being news for the area though.

It doesn't say "the newspaper of anarchists in ulster" though. It says "newspaper of anarchists in ulster" and it is a "newspaper of anarchists in ulster". If we said "the newspaper of anarchists in ulster" that'd be different but we don't.

It kind of funny to be accussed of being touchy in situations like this.

16 July, 2008 - 12:54

If I was still laying it out it would say "The newpapers of the only anarchists in EIRE32 ever" followed by the home addresses of the various organise members i've gathered over the last few months accusing them of being hakim beyists.

Kinda proving my point there george.

Weeler = appropriate response
georgestapleton = get a sense of humour

It is of course entirely legitimate that they change a couple of pages. Entirely legitimate also that they call it issue 104 when in Ulster terms its really issue 3.

Now, weren't Organise! invited to a meeting between Organise! and the WSM recently? If you want to be pedantic about yer own use of the English language I like how we get 'invited' to a joint meeting.

For the georgestapletons of this world this is all entirely tongue in cheek.

16 July, 2008 - 12:59

Oi, you deliberately missing my 29 county dig? Eire has 29 counties, Northern Ireland has 6. Six plus twenty-nine is NOT 32. And 6 into 35 definitely will not go wink

16 July, 2008 - 13:04

Out of curiousity boul, what would you call a paper specific to the occupied territories?

Working Class Resistance? Organise!?

Out of curiosity Weeler why would anyone take an organisation seriously that defines itself as:

Quote:
the Workers Solidarity Movement (an anarchist organisation of trade unionists, social justice campaigners and customers who would prefer to drink their coffee in unionised cafés)

That is just feckin priceless wink

Firstly, I was being sarcastic, and I happy that you seem to spend all your time complaining and attempting to pick bits of petty info..... If its not our newspaper, its articles or has to be something. It actually a useful insight into Organise!.....I wonder do you ever reflect on your own perfect consistent propaganda...... ? roll eyes

16 July, 2008 - 20:23

Until Organise! does do this than we can have a balanced, informed and frank exchange in views...... smile

16 July, 2008 - 23:07

Yes cos thats exactly what I spend ALL my time doing. Get a grip bobby.
