What do you do for anarchy?

What are your ideas for anarchist organizing/activity? I lost my job due to the bad economic situation, what can I do if I have no job to organize workers to take over production? What are your ideas for the best ways to foment autonomous thought and spread anarchist ideas? Am I just a lifestylist if I don't have a job and nonetheless try to live in anarchist opposition to capitalism? I hate looking for work... I'd rather look for anarchy... but where and how? Any ideas?

Nah, lifestylism is the idea that a) you can drop out of capitalism and b) that countercultural, bohemian activities have revolutionary content.

Organisation and agitation are what you want. Link up with local revolutionary organisations, you're stuck on your own.

revolutionary organizations? i don't know of any... unless food not bombs is a revolutionary organization? they're always at the park... then there's answer, and the communist party, but i have talked to them a few times and never really liked them... they're too pushy and stuck up. I guess I have to start my own group... I wonder what you think is a good way to start one?

It is pretty hard to live a life free of capitalism. I think you may live in the States so this may not be relevant to you but I would agree with Django: join a national fed or local anarchist group if there is one and devote some of your spare time to them. If anarchism is going to become a reality we need to convince ordinary people that it viable and, frankly, better than what they have at the moment. Some lifestyle things, like food coops or community gardens, do that others like crusty squats, IMO, don't.

is there any point in allowing rifts to form in the anarchist movement just because one mode of resistance may seem "more convincing to the outside world" than others, when we have little to no idea how any given individual is going to react ever?

(not to mention that most anarchist and communist groups tend to just kinda hang out among themselves and usually alienate everybody in "the outside world" anyway except on that one to one basis which after all is at the origin of all these modes of resistance... and our little conflicts among ourselves all the more so since they're not 'in' on the joke)

there is a big difference between class based activism and lifestylist ways. to me primitivism and lifestylist dont mean anything to me. i see where they are coming form but it really means fuck all to my life. i think the struggle has to be the class struggle. this is why you get a bit of conflict within anarchism.

Where are you based? Perhaps use libcom to find a few like minded types in your area and start from there.

Why was this binned? It doesn't seem so bad.

Mr Joseph K. Hitler probably did it.
